Before you book, the most important question is: what exactly is included in a private yacht rental in Cancún? Not all operators offer the same and the fine print can surprise you at the end of the day. Here we tell you everything you should expect — and what many operators charge extra for.
What should always be included
This is the minimum any serious operator must include in the base rental price:
- Exclusive use of the yacht for your group
- CONAPESCA-certified captain
- Fuel for the trip
- Passenger insurance
- Certified life jackets
- On-board safety equipment
What Ocean Majesty includes in every package
At Ocean Majesty, all our packages include the following at no extra cost:
- Exclusive private yacht
- Captain + crew
- Full fuel
- Unlimited drinks (beer, sodas, water)
- Unlimited ice
- Snorkel gear for all passengers
- Bluetooth sound system
- Life jackets and safety equipment
- Passenger insurance
What is generally NOT included (and costs extra)
These services are add-ons with most operators, including us. We always list them with a clear price upfront:
- Private chef on board (extra cost)
- Premium spirits / open bar with liquor
- Themed decoration (birthdays, etc.)
- Time extension
- Professional photography
- Transfer to the departure marina
Crew: how many people are included?
A private yacht in Cancún always includes at least one certified captain. Depending on the size of the vessel:
- Speedboats and small yachts (up to 20 pax): captain + 1 crew member
- Mid-size yachts (20–35 pax): captain + 2 crew members
- Large yachts and catamarans (35+ pax): captain + 3 or more crew members
Crew members serve drinks, assist with anchoring and snorkel maneuvers, and ensure everyone on board stays safe.
Drinks: how "unlimited" is unlimited?
When an operator says "drinks included," they generally mean:
- Domestic beer (Corona, Modelo, Victoria or similar)
- Soft drinks (Coca-Cola, sparkling water, Sprite)
- Still water
- Ice
Spirits, premium cocktails and wine usually cost extra. If you want a full open bar with liquor, that's a different package. Always ask specifically which brands and alcohol types are included.
Insurance: what nobody tells you
Every passenger-carrying vessel in Mexico must have active civil liability and passenger accident insurance. It's always a good idea to ask if the operator carries this coverage. We can show you our policy at the time of booking.
Route and destination: is Isla Mujeres included?
Not always. Some operators charge the Isla Mujeres route as an additional destination because it requires more fuel and time. At Ocean Majesty we have specific packages for this route with an all-inclusive price from the start. Check before booking whether your desired destination is within the base trip or carries an extra charge.
Pre-booking checklist
Use these questions to evaluate any operator before paying a deposit:
- Is fuel already included in the price?
- What drinks are included exactly?
- How many crew members will be on board?
- Is the operator the owner of the yacht, or a broker?
- Do they carry active passenger insurance?
- Is the price shown the final price?
At Ocean Majesty we answer all of these questions before you book. Message us on WhatsApp and we'll send you a complete, no-surprise quote.
